Reviews

“Alicia Williams’ poignant portrayal of Margaret Garner is very personal and powerful.  Williams’ performance is very moving and engaging. As a mother, I cried, laughed, and drew strength from Margaret Garner that night.  The presentation is excellent as well as educational. Williams provided a very informative discussion about the life of this black woman after her performance.”

“Alicia Williams is a magical performer. She has the amazing ability to step into the pages of history and immerse herself in the powerful stories they reveal. Alicia honors the heroines she portrays and, at the same time, changes her audiences forever. She is unforgettable.”

“To see Alicia transform into a runaway slave was amazing. I was moved beyond words...Her performance was outstanding and deserving of that standing ovation...she was...Margaret Garner."

Cheryl L. White, Charlotte NC

I had the extreme pleasure of enjoying Ms. Williams' original monologue, "A Woman Remembers" during Black History Month at church. Her performance was so impressive and so personal that everyone present was totally engaged- from five years old to sixty-five years old!  Her range of expression brought forth an equal range of emotion from the audience. Literally, we laughed and we cried. What an awesomely touching and real experience!
